Westside Anglican Fellowship collecting ESL books for Vietnamese students
The Westside Anglican Fellowship is preparing to ship English as a Second Language books to Vietnam. The parish is sponsoring Joseph Nguyen (a Vietnamese native) who recently returned to his native land (from the Cleveland area) to volunteer as an ESL and mathematics teacher. Joseph has a Master of Science in Mathematics from John
Carroll University and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from Cleveland State University.

Kindling Ministries at Heartland Church Sept. 24
Kindling Ministries, training consultation for pastors and church planters gathered on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Heartland Church, Fort Wayne, Ind. The group meets on the fourth Saturday of the month through winter and into spring. We will focus on inspiration and instruction to equip ministers to see their ministries advance in church growth and development. We will address the practical issues of starting where you are, with what you have and growing from the inside out, and the bottom up. Topics include removing the obstacles, building teams, multiplying groups and community impact.

One Transformation’ conference held at St. Luke’s August 18-20
What will it take to transform Northeast Ohio? To be united as Jesus calls us to be? To plant churches collaboratively? Those were the big questions when St. Luke’s Church hosted the One Transformation conference August 18-20. Special guest speaker was Bob Roberts, founder and senior pastor of NorthWood Church in Keller, Texas, share a vision to be a part of God’s kingdom locally and globally.

Bob RobertsThrough Bob's his leadership, NorthWood has planted 130 churches in the United States. Bob is an international speaker and thinker in transforming people, churches, communities and the world. He has led NorthWood and other churches to provide international development projects. Bob Roberts has published four books with Zondervan — Transformation, Glocalization, The Multiplying Church, and Real-Time Connections.

“One Transformation” was sponsored by a coalition of Northeast Ohio ministry networks and churches.

Funeral service for Fr. Chuck Conover, St. Paul’s, Greenfield, Ind., June 13
The Rev. Fr. Chuck Conover, 82, of Pendleton ,Ind., died Wednesday, June 8 at his residence after an extended illness.

A funeral service with Holy Communion was held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 13 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church within First Presbyterian Church, 116 W. South St., Greenfield, Ind., 46140, with the Rev. Sean Templeton and Deacon Tony Bender officiating. Burial will be in Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.

Fr. Chuck was born Oct. 12, 1928, in East Chicago, the son of Lee and Ann (James) Conover. Since 1971, he lived in the Anderson-Pendleton area. He retired in 1988 from General Motors after 37½ years.

He served as vicar of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Greenfield. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and served in the Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie J. Conover of Pendleton; daughter, Kimberly (James) Agnew of Fishers; son, Charles H. (Marcia) Conover of Pendleton; grandchildren, PFC. Matthew L. (Crystal) Conover of Fort Carson, Colo., and Amanda S. Conover of Fishers; great-granddaughters, Autumn M. Evans and Madysen A. Conover; brother, William (Yvonne) Conover of Argos; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Wayne Smoot of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Eight confirmed, 10 received at St. Barnabas, Bay Village
Congratulations to the eight people who received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Barnabas, Bay Village, Ohio on Sunday, June 5. They were Iris Haco, Catherine Hall, Andrew Holmes, Kevin Krumenauer, Adam Litzler, Stacey Litzler, Mackenzie Marron and Paulina Stefano.

In addition, the following 10 people were received into the Anglian faith: Andrea Coleman, Hilda Coleman, Bob Drusendahl, Jeanne George, Ken Killinger, Jean Killinger, John Mack, Sarah Woodruff, Scott Woodruff and Susan Zemek.

The congregation extends its appreciaiton to the Rt. Rev. Roger Ames and the Rt. Rev. Jwan Zhumbes!
